Wasim is a subject matter expert with over 30 years proven track record in technical excellence in the tailings and dams’ industry. His particular focus has been in successfully leading teams, corporate governance in a mining environment, Global Industry Standards on Tailings Management (GISTM) compliance from scratch, GISTM reviews and independent audits, technical due diligence, comprehensive dam safety and third-party design reviews, planning, concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility and detailed design, project control, tendering, construction, operation and closure design of many projects around the world while successfully meeting and exceeding client’s needs.
Wasim has broad exposure to various mining and civil-related projects and operations with experience in the following commodities: Gold, copper, nickel, iron ore, aluminium/bauxite, uranium, brown and black coal, lime, etc. His project portfolio spans over 170 tailings/bauxite residue disposal/storage areas/waste fines storages, water dams and more than 24 medium to very large multi-billion US$ hydropower projects. He has worked on projects in Australia, Vietnam, Nepal, Uganda, Ghana, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Mongolia, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.
